About us Research Funding research Dystonia UK focuses most of its funding on delivering direct support to the community. This means that money raised is primarily used to develop trusted information resources, strengthen our local support network, and create community initiatives that help people feel informed, connected and understood. We also campaign for change, working with decision makers and coalition organisations to improve diagnosis pathways, access to treatment, and mental health support. Alongside this vital work, we fund research into the causes, treatments and management of dystonia when restricted donations or grants allow. Our aim is to stimulate progress by providing seed-funding for promising projects, often in partnership with researchers, other charities or industry. This helps unlock new ideas, generate early evidence, and lay the foundations for future breakthroughs. Whenever funding becomes available, we update our community and publish our research priorities so everyone can see where support is needed most.
