About us The team Adka Ali Pidikova Community Project Officer I am very excited to move to the charity sector and join the lovely Team Dystonia UK as well as its amazing community. I used to support and engage with students at universities, but I am thrilled at the opportunity to have a bigger impact and make a difference in the role of Community Project Officer. My main responsibilities in this role include raising awareness about dystonia and fostering community engagement. For instance, I work closely with our incredible volunteers and support their work, including overseeing our local support groups. Moreover, I manage and distribute information resources to our community, and build relationships with clinics and other organisations to expand our Dystonia UK network and further share the information resources. I also coordinate other community projects such as participating at relevant events across the country. In my free time, I love travelling with my husband, exploring new places, different cultures, and local foods. If we are not travelling abroad, you can find us on a UK adventure to a concert, theatre or a stand-up comedy show. I am also interested in learning languages. My native tongue is Slovak, and I am fluent in English, French and am learning Spanish. I have lived abroad for the past 9 years, 2 of which were in a French-speaking part of Switzerland and the rest across the UK, settling down in Reading.
