We are delighted to share some exciting news with our members, volunteers, medical advisers, supporters and stakeholders. The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Alex Feis-Bryce. Alex joins Dystonia UK at a pivotal moment. As the only national charity dedicated to supporting the 100,000 people living with dystonia in the UK, our mission to provide high-quality information, advocate for better NHS services, and support life-changing research has never been more urgent. Alex has over ten years’ experience of leadership in the charity sector. He was previously CEO at Diversity Role Models, the national LGBTQ+ anti-bullying charity (Charity of the Year, Rainbow Honours 2024). Before this he worked as a political advisor, and as a leader in the NGO-sector including as a CEO for two charities (Survivors UK and National Ugly Mugs). He has been recognised for his work both nationally and internationally, including ‘Highly Commended Rising Leader’ at the Charity Times Awards in 2020, and named in the Pride Power List 2025. Alex (below left) says: “I am very much looking forward to working with the board, the staff and volunteers, to build on the achievements of Dystonia UK and to take the organisation forward in a sustainable and positive way for the benefit of all those with this challenging condition.” Q Khan MBE (below right), Chair, has welcomed the appointment, saying: "On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am absolutely delighted that Alex is joining Dystonia UK. The search for a new CEO was rigorous, as we sought a leader who not only possesses the strategic vision to navigate the current healthcare landscape but also an empathetic connection to our community. Since our founding in 1983, Dystonia UK has remained a patient-led organisation. Alex shares this core value and is committed to magnifying the voices of dystonia patients. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our staff and volunteers for their unwavering dedication during this transition. Together, we look forward to a new and positive chapter.” Published: 22nd May 2026
